Ashtead Rotary Club in our Community

Community & Vocation - 'Service Above Self'
Community Volunteer Service is an opportunity for Ashtead's Rotarians to implement projects and activities in their local community, to serve the public interest, and enhance the quality of life. Worldwide, Rotary emphasises the ideal of "Service Above Self", encouraging Rotarians to give their time and talents to make a positive impact.
Ashtead Rotary Club focuses on helping local charities, individuals and other deserving causes in and around Ashtead, to make the lives of residents and the community just a little better. We do so by working together to offer our time, advice, and raising funds for financial donations.

We Rotarians believe that a strong community builds a strong society. We have done so in Ashtead through a number of initiatives such as:
-
Our Christmas collection supports our three local primary and two infants schools.
-
We also assist individuals and families through Besom.
-
We hold youth competitions with local schools eg Young Writer, Young Artist, Young Photographer
-
We support Ashtead Youth Club and sponsor their Duke of Edinburgh programme.
-
Every year we select young adults to attend the Rotary Young Leadership Award (RYLA), at High Ashurst.

Our seniors meet at our annual Seniors Christmas
Party and Film Show, for tea and entertainment.

-
We gift of Dictionaries for life to all primary school children.
-
We provide finance for many local charities.
-
Our Christmas Party and Burns Night raffle funds supports a London based homeless charity.
-
Each year we recognise the efforts of others in furthering aims which complement those of Rotary - through our Community Awards.

Our Community Awards recognise outstanding contributions from individuals

Each year we join with others from our local community in giving thanks to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice
If you would like to serve your local community but need support from other like minded individuals, or perhaps you want to support our existing work - or are simply looking to provide some financial support for a charity - then please do not hesitate to reach out to Ashtead Rotary Club where you would be warmly welcomed.
